University of Rhode Island - College of Pharmacy
The Pharmacognosy research team at URI has been making exciting new discoveries using natural products in the creation of new drugs. Interviews with the team members highlights some of their new findings and the excitement of moving into the new College of Pharmacy building. The video will be used to showcase the department and help raise funds for the proposed medicinal plant garden/conservatory.
Creative Capital Youth Training '09
The Department of Art, Culture and Tourism, the Office of Mayor David N. Cicilline and Workforce Solutions of Providence/Cranston came together to provide 260 youth with work training in arts, technology and environmental jobs.
An unprecedented collaboration occurred between city government, arts and community based organizations and individual artists to utilize funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to provide workforce training and jobs to young adults.
Harken Productions trained 6 youth in all aspects of video production and then took on the mission of documenting and filming all of these training programs. The video is being used by the City of Providence to showcase the value of these training programs and to request additional funding for workforce training.

University of Rhode Island - College of Pharmacy: Currently following the stages of construction of the new state of the art College of Pharmacy building.
Carbon Wrap Solutions - Goat Island Bridge Restoration - Newport, RI: Initial stage of bridge decay are recorded. Project was delayed until early spring due to severe tidal changes and cold weather limiting access to the bridge. In early spring we will resume documenting the restoration of Goat Island Bridge.

The youth are our future. Through the skill sets of documentary filmmaking and media literacy, HARKEN! Youth Media trains youth to think critically and create thoughtfully in a medium that has a strong impact on us all.
With over 20 years of experience teaching arts education, we offer tailor made programs to schools and school districts to train teachers on the use of arts in the curriculum, including the use of media technology in the classroom.
Death: A Love Story: Multiple award winning feature length documentary about the tremendous gift that death can be when we are able to sit and listen to our loved ones as they pass. Official Nominee, Sundance Film Festival 1999, Winner Best Documentary in 4 other film festivals.
